Relationships in a World of Individualism

  • rWorld

The rWorld is about more than Dale Kuehne's book Sex and the iWorld.
The rWorld is a New England based, non-profit (in formation), that is composed of a growing number of people and organizations from many faith and ideological backgrounds worldwide. We believe that much of the fulfillment for which women and men are looking can be found by enhancing the quality of our relationships. While the individual freedom we enjoy in the West is a gift, the love and intimacy for which humans yearn will not be found in self-serving materialism or hedonism, but in a variety of healthy relationships.

Professor of Politics and The Richard L. Bready Chair for Ethics, Economics, and the Common Good at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH.

In this blog I'm highlighting signposts of the world in which we presently reside as a means of helping promote a civil, and meaningful dialogue about what kind of world in which we wish to live. I am particularly interested in exploring how might we reconcile the individual good and the common good, and where reconciliation isn’t possible, which should take precedence and why.

Cambridge University and its Transgendered Woman’s College

Posted by Dale Kuehne on October 4, 2017

Murray Edwards College of Cambridge University, an all-woman’s college, has decided to admit transgendered students.

What does it mean to be a woman’s college?

What does it mean to be a woman?

Who knows?

Hail to thee, Transgender U
You engendered me, it’s true
From your hallowed halls
I leave with burdened, heavy heart that heaves.

Those autumn days of golden hue
We first wore our high heeled shoes
We joined a rare sorority
A club of sissy boys like me.

Winter nights by firelight
We learned to do our makeup right
We painted, filed, and buffed our nails
Because we had to pass, not fail.

Hail to thee, Transgender U
We are ladies, thanks to you
We hold you in our hearts
As we play our new female parts.

You taught us how a woman walks
And trained our voices so we talked
In breathy tones with question marks
To please our lovers in the dark.

We shaved our legs and pierced our ears
And learned to put aside our fears
A hundred hours for our degree
In blended electrology.

In you we place our faith and trust
We thank you for the C cup bust
We take our places in the world
As educated man-made girls.

Hail to thee, Transgender U
You engendered me, it’s true
From your hallowed halls,
I leave with burdened heavy heart that heaves.

From your hallowed halls,
I leave with burdened heavy heart that heaves.
