    The rWorld is a New England based, non-profit (in formation), that is composed of a growing number of people and organizations from many faith and ideological backgrounds worldwide. We believe that much of the fulfillment for which women and men are looking can be found by enhancing the quality of our relationships. While the individual freedom we enjoy in the West is a gift, the love and intimacy for which humans yearn will not be found in self-serving materialism or hedonism, but in a variety of healthy relationships.

I am particularly interested in exploring how might we reconcile the individual good and the common good, and where reconciliation isn’t possible, which should take precedence and why.

To update a previous signposting, Facebook now is up to 71 different genders. 56 were not enough.

The contemporary political debate surrounding gender and marriage and bathrooms is behind the times. Male and Female and all that is connected to them is so yesterday.

71 and counting.

    I am reminded of a psychiatrist friend shaking his head about folks claiming to have multiple personalities: “Somehow, they always add up to less than one.” So too with gender. By moving toward ambiguous self-definitions in an effort to have an opportunity to hold the floor in conversation for a few minutes (see also Artists saying “I wanted to start a conversation about what art/beauty/meaning/ is”), the poor floundering, angry miserable person ends up with less than one full gender, however the legos are assembled.
